The Zambon business attests its activity already at the end of the XIX century, when our forefathers cultivated the first vineyards in the “Le Cervare” locality along the slopes of Monte Duello and produced their first wine in a rustic farmhouse which nowadays belongs to our farm, located between Montecchia and Roncà.
The first years of XX century were difficult, but despite the economical situation and the Great War, our great-grandfather Umberto didn’t lose his passion for the land and continued with great dedication the activity handed down by his ancestors. After his death, his son Bruno built the winery in Roncà right at the foot of Monte Duello, which has volcanic origins.
Later, Roberto entered the business beside his father, and the activity started to focus on the production of Soave and Merlot wines for third parties. In 2006 also Federico entered the business, and after years of study, trips, and having met people who helped his education, he committed to innovate the winery. After years of discussions within the family and scientific experimentations both in the vineyard and in the winery, Zambon winery produced its first bottle of Soave in 2011. This event led to an intense period full of satisfactions which lasts till our days.
We are occupied in many projects. Among these, we are working on the opening of a didactic area inside our winery, where we will offer educational activities focused on the respect for the environment and on the awareness of the beauty of our territory.
Our centuries-old experience in the vineyard and in the winery made it possible for us to bring about years of study and passion that identify themselves in precise and accurate productions with the most modern techniques of manufacturing, passing from fermentation and refinement in steel and French barrique to our forte, which is the recovery of cement barrels.
Little by little, we have almost completely eliminated chemistry in the production, encouraging the research of the natural flavours deriving from the plant. Our key concepts are “care” and “territory”.
Our agriculture is based on the maximum respect for the land along with the attempt at expressing all the hints of the territory in our vineyards and, later, in our wine. We have conducted a sustainable agriculture avoiding invasive techniques and turning to natural products and to an organic fertilization.
At our winery we sometimes transfer our wine into wooden barrels to lend structure and enhance it.
Through the years, cement revealed to be one of the best materials to build long-lasting, isolating tanks, able to keep the properties of the wine unaltered.
We choose the best bunches to produce the wines we want. Selected grapes for selected wines.
